This is in continuity of dialogues that have been led by Saheli and activists in Delhi and we hope to further deepen our collective understanding on customary laws and practices in different regions that are linked to community identities; the challenges it raises from a constitutional perspective of individualized rights, and where the women’s struggle for equal rights is placed within these debates.

Roma from All India Union of Forest Working People; Rosemary Dzuvichu of Nagaland University/ Naga Mothers Association and Soma KP will set off the discussion with experiences from their work in different States. Vani and Sadhna from Saheli will moderate the session.

We invite you to join and share from your own studies and experiences for a meaningful discussion on this important issue.
